Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke announced a nationwide demonstration in the capital on October 10, issuing a "Chalo Delhi" call aimed at pressing for the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. The announcement came following a large public rally held at Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, where party leaders raised concerns over the Election Commission of India's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise and alleged mass voter deletions.
Addressing supporters, Dipke warned of a "Jantar Mantar 2.0" mobilization, asserting that youth and citizens from across the country will march to Delhi if the polling chief does not step down. Beyond demanding Kumar's resignation and criminal proceedings, the CJP called for freezing current electoral rolls to restore the January 2025 voter lists, as well as repealing the 2023 law governing the appointment of Election Commissioners. Dipke emphasized that the scheduled October 10 march will remain a peaceful agitation, urging citizens advocating for transparent elections to participate.
