Verification Standard

MinuteBrief aims to verify important claims with more than one credible source whenever possible. We distinguish between confirmed facts, official statements, reported claims, analysis, and opinion.

Primary and Government Sources

For policy, public safety, courts, regulation, elections, health, and official data, we prefer primary documents, government sources, institutional releases, and direct statements where available.

News Agency Preference

When relying on wire or agency reporting, we prefer established agencies and credible sources such as Reuters, PTI, AP, AFP, and other reputable newsrooms with clear editorial standards.

Source Quality

We consider source proximity, track record, transparency, corroboration, and possible conflicts of interest. Anonymous or single-source claims require additional caution and editorial review.

Corrections Workflow

If a factual issue is reported or discovered, editors review the claim, compare it with available evidence, update the article if needed, and record meaningful changes through the corrections process.
