The eighth edition of the PM Mementos e-Auction will start on September 17 and continue until October 31. The auction features 1,498 gifts and mementos received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on various occasions.
Included in the auction are 50 specially curated ‘Hero Objects’ that represent some of the most distinctive items in the collection. Highlights include a silver memento of Lord Ram from Karnataka with a base price of ₹13.5 lakh, a silver replica of the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam at ₹9 lakh, a framed Tree of Life Gond painting at ₹7.50 lakh, Jagannath Parivar on Chariot at ₹6 lakh, and a 99.99 fine gold-plated framed Radha Krishna artwork at ₹5.40 lakh.
The collection showcases India’s diverse artistic traditions, traditional craftsmanship, spiritual heritage, cultural practices, and sporting achievements. The mementos have been sourced from different parts of the country, including states like West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Bihar, and Odisha, highlighting their geographical and cultural diversity.
Previous seven editions of the initiative have raised approximately ₹52 crore, with participation from citizens, collectors, and institutions. Proceeds from the auctions are donated to the government’s Namami Gange programme.
The National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi coordinates the documentation, exhibition, and operational aspects of the initiative. An exhibition running alongside the auction will allow visitors to view the mementos and appreciate their artistic and cultural significance before the e-auction begins.
