GAIL India Limited is expanding its natural gas pipeline infrastructure with about 1,500 km of pipelines currently under construction. At the company's annual general meeting, Chairman and Managing Director Deepak Gupta stated that GAIL’s existing natural gas pipeline network spans over 18,690 km. Once the ongoing projects are completed, the pipeline network is expected to grow to nearly 20,000 km. This expansion is part of GAIL’s broader strategy to strengthen its gas transmission infrastructure.
The company is also focusing on growth in LPG transmission and petrochemicals, which are integral to its future capacity expansion plans. The additional pipeline infrastructure will enhance GAIL’s overall gas transportation capabilities. GAIL’s continued investment in pipeline infrastructure aligns with its goal to expand across India’s natural gas value chain. Completing the projects currently underway is a critical step in increasing the network from more than 18,690 km to almost 20,000 km.
