The Gujarat Police have announced a major tech initiative inviting startups, researchers, and developers to participate in India's largest hackathon focused on AI video analytics. Organised in partnership with i-Hub Gujarat, DA-IICT, and NFSU, the challenge aims to connect more than 80,000 cameras operated by various state departments into one real-time surveillance network. Participating teams will be evaluated on their ability to perform automated number plate recognition (ANPR), cross-camera tracking, and watchlist matching, with the top entries competing for a ₹37 lakh prize pool during the live finale on September 10–11.
