A 20-year-old, second-year IIT Bombay student from Pilani, Rajasthan, died by suicide in a campus hostel amid family-related issues, police confirmed.

A 20-year-old second-year student at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay was found dead in his hostel room late Tuesday (July 28). The deceased has been identified as Sohail Rajkumar Sangwan. The student, originally from Pilani, Rajasthan, was found hanging from the ceiling fan with a bedsheet. Preliminary investigations indicate that the student was dealing with family-related issues at the time.

The police are currently conducting further inquiries to understand the circumstances leading to the tragedy.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials seek to provide clarity and implement support measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
