Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk has called for stronger technological cooperation between India and Poland, urging both countries to translate their strategic partnership into joint ventures, innovation, and business opportunities targeting global markets.
Speaking at the India-Poland Business Forum in Bengaluru on October 23, 2026, he highlighted Bengaluru's role as a global technology hub and emphasized combining the strengths of both economies to foster mutual growth.
Mr. Tusk identified information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and digital services as key collaboration areas. He proposed merging India's extensive IT services with Poland's expertise in software, cloud computing, automation, and cybersecurity. He also encouraged partnerships among businesses, universities, and research institutions to develop AI applications in industrial automation, data analytics, diagnostics, and infrastructure management.
Aerospace and space technology are another major focus. Referring to India's Chandrayaan-3 mission and Poland's involvement in the European Space Agency, Mr. Tusk called for joint projects in satellite components, Earth observation, navigation software, data analytics, and space security. He also noted that Polish astronaut Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski and Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla participated in the 2025 Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station, highlighting collaboration potential.
Mr. Tusk highlighted opportunities to exchange expertise in digital public services, citing India's Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Poland's electronic government services, including the mObywatel digital identity app. He said such cooperation could enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve services for citizens and businesses.
India and Poland elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Warsaw in August 2024, setting a framework for cooperation in technology, cybersecurity, and space. Mr. Tusk expressed confidence that the forum would generate new corporate partnerships, jointly developed AI solutions, increased Polish participation in Indian space programs, and opportunities to commercialize emerging technologies.
He urged public institutions to assist businesses in securing financing, finding partners, and overcoming collaboration barriers. Emphasizing the need to move beyond traditional trade, Mr. Tusk called for joint development of future technologies and introduction of innovative products and services to global markets.
