India batting coach Sitanshu Kotak has urged Yashasvi Jaiswal to be patient as intense competition limits his opportunities in the ODI side. Kotak said Jaiswal is among India’s best batters and performs well when given a chance, but the presence of several in-form players makes selection highly competitive.
Kotak emphasized that Jaiswal is not being treated unfairly. He compared the situation to having several quality wicketkeepers competing for a single spot in the playing XI. According to Kotak, Jaiswal must continue working hard and wait for his opportunity as the team manages its strong batting depth.
Kotak also highlighted the importance of experience within India’s squad, pointing to Ravindra Jadeja as a player who remains relevant to the team’s plans for next year’s World Cup. While not part of the selection committee, Kotak praised Jadeja’s all-round abilities, fielding, and experience.
He noted the value of senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jadeja, who share their experience and guide younger teammates through challenging situations. These comments underline India’s depth of talent while emphasizing patience, competition, and experience in team selection.
