Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) president Mukesh Sahani, during his “Aarakshan Sankalp Yatra” in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh, criticised Uttar Pradesh minister and Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad. Sahani accused Nishad of being “trapped in dynastic politics” and prioritising his own political outfit.
Sahani alleged that despite being in the government for five years, Sanjay Nishad had failed to secure reservation benefits for the Nishad (Mallah) community. As part of his campaign, Sahani administered an oath to community members, asking them to pledge with Ganga water in their hands that they would not vote for the BJP until their reservation demand was fulfilled.
He said the campaign would continue across villages until November 30, aiming to organise Nishad community members and raise awareness about the reservation issue. The target is to get 50 lakh people to take the pledge. Sahani’s remarks and mobilisation campaign highlight a political contest for representation and leadership within the Nishad community, placing the reservation demand at the centre of his outreach in Uttar Pradesh.
