North India is set to witness an intensified spell of monsoon rainfall over the coming days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting increased precipitation across the region. The active monsoon has already triggered floods, landslides, and widespread disruptions in several parts of the country. In Kerala's Wayanad, a rain-induced mudslide claimed three lives, while southern Gujarat, particularly Surat district, recorded extremely heavy rainfall that left five people dead and forced the evacuation of more than 2,100 residents from flood-hit areas.
Meanwhile, showers across northern states and Delhi brought respite from the heat, although waterlogging affected normal life in several localities. Authorities remain on alert as the active monsoon system is expected to bring heavy rainfall across large parts of north India in the coming days.
