Pakistan women's cricket team captain Fatima Sana has been fined 10 per cent of her match fee and handed one demerit point by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a breach of conduct during their Women's Asia Cup 2026 clash against India.

The sanction follows an incident in the second over of India's run chase, where Sana gestured towards the pavilion after taking a caught-and-bowled dismissal of Indian opener Shafali Verma. Found in violation of Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct—which prohibits actions or gestures that disparage or provoke an aggressive reaction from a dismissed batter—Sana admitted the charge proposed by match referee Supriya Rani Das. The sanction represents her second offence in a 24-month period, taking her active demerit point balance to two.
