Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to hold the second two-day round of the Chintan Shivir in October, with exact dates yet to be finalized. Initially planned for September 29–30, the session was postponed due to ministers' prior official engagements. The first round took place on September 23–24, where ministers were divided into four groups of 17–18 members each for focused discussions with the Prime Minister.
These sessions focused on policy formulation, delivery of government schemes, and citizens’ experiences in accessing public services. Discussions aimed to expand the reach of government programs, especially among women and youth, identify new beneficiary groups, and strengthen coordination between ministries and stakeholders. Ministers were also encouraged to consider ways to boost voter-list enrollment and enhance outreach efforts.
The upcoming second round is set to review best practices for extending government outreach and evaluate schemes that have underperformed or seen limited uptake. Such programs may be reviewed by the Prime Minister’s Office to determine whether to intensify efforts or discontinue them.
