The World Nomad Games have returned to their historic birthplace in Kyrgyzstan. The 6th World Nomad Games opened with a celebration at the newly constructed Bishkek Arena, coinciding with Kyrgyzstan’s national Independence Day celebrations.
Running through September 6, 2026, the biennial event brings together over 3,000 athletes from more than 110 nations to compete across 43 traditional disciplines that celebrate nomadic culture and heritage. Global heads of state—including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan—attended the grand opening ceremony in Bishkek alongside delegates attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
