Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty rebounded on September 25, 2026, as investors returned to select blue-chip stocks following recent sharp losses. Value buying was led by sectors including banking, automobile, oil and gas, and other major stocks. Axis Bank gained 2.82%, Mahindra & Mahindra rose 2.24%, and Asian Paints advanced 1.93%. Bajaj Finance, HCL Technologies, and Titan also increased by 1.21%, 1.17%, and 1.01%, respectively.
The Sensex climbed 315.20 points, or 0.43%, to 73,895.74, with 19 of its 30 constituents closing higher. The index fluctuated between 73,477.77 and 73,968.05 during the session, marking a 490.28-point swing. This rebound followed the index’s fall to an over three-month low in the previous session, as investors sought opportunities in large-cap stocks after the recent decline.
