The Hindu-VIT Biotech Conclave 2026 took place in Chennai on September 11, 2026, uniting leading experts, industry leaders, and academicians for a focused dialogue on biotechnology's expanding role in shaping the future. This one-day event was designed as a student-centric platform to introduce higher secondary students, undergraduates, researchers, and aspiring biotechnologists to the emerging opportunities and challenges within the biotechnology sector. It aimed to deepen participants' understanding of biotechnology's real-world impact and its increasing relevance across various fields.
The conclave was inaugurated by Suchitra Ella, Co-founder and Managing Director of Bharat Biotech and CII-president designate, while the programme was presided over by G. Viswanathan, Founder and Chancellor of Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). G. V. Selvam, Vice-President of VIT, delivered the special address. The event provided a platform for experts, industry representatives, and academics to share insights on biotechnology's future, offering students and aspiring researchers valuable exposure to advancements in the field.
