Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng Inc. has launched an automated production line in Guangzhou dedicated to building general-purpose humanoid robots. During its debut, the company's next-generation "IRON" humanoid completed assembly and walked off the line under its own power without human startup assistance, where CEO He Xiaopeng personally pinned an official employee badge onto the unit. The facility leverages automotive-grade manufacturing standards to automate over 80% of core processes, aiming to begin full-scale mass production by late 2026 before expanding to global markets in 2027.
