Top seed and World No. 2 Alexander Zverev surged into the US Open semifinals on Wednesday night, dispatching Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-2, 7-5, 6-1 in little over two hours at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Despite an erratic serve early on, the 2026 French Open champion saved a crucial set point in the second set before steamrolling through the third to complete his fourth Grand Slam semifinal appearance of the year.

The dominant quarterfinal victory marked Zverev's 23rd Grand Slam match win of 2026, breaking Boris Becker's 37-year-old record for the most major wins by a German male player in a single season. Zverev will now battle Russia's Karen Khachanov on Friday for a place in the Flushing Meadows final.
