To enhance the nutritional intake of students, government schools in Andhra Pradesh under the Dokka Seethamma Mid-day Meal Scheme have introduced a new snack called millet 'chikki'. This snack is prepared from a blend of millets, peanuts, and jaggery syrup, making it rich in dietary fiber and calcium.
The initiative aims to provide healthier food options to schoolchildren by incorporating traditional ingredients with high nutritional value.
The millet chikki will be distributed to students three times each week as part of their meal program.
