Assam down town University (AdtU) celebrated the academic accomplishments of the Batch of Graduates 2026 at its 13th Convocation Ceremony held at the university campus in Panikhaiti, Guwahati.

The university conferred degrees on 1,885 graduates and scholars, including 95 international students from eight countries, marking another significant milestone in its academic journey.

The ceremony was attended by Shri Keshab Mahanta, Hon’ble Minister, Government of Assam, as the Chief Guest, while Smt. Febin M.F., Head – L&T EduTech, Larsen & Toubro Limited, attended as the Special Guest.

A major highlight of the convocation was the conferment of the Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.) Honoris Causa upon Shri Sarat Kumar Jain, CMD, SM Group, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to industry and business.

The ceremony also recognised academic and professional excellence among students, including the AdtU 2026 Gold Medalists, the Best Placement Achiever and the recipient of the AdtU Alumni Award for Inspiring Achievement.

In his address, the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the university’s emphasis on employability. The recent job fair brought together around 200 companies, with approximately 900 students securing employment opportunities. Another 234 students progressed to higher education in India and abroad, while 125 students received internship opportunities with corporates, banks and other organisations.

He also highlighted the university’s efforts to provide students with international exposure. Nine students travelled abroad for academic opportunities, while 34 faculty members visited institutions overseas and 30 international faculty members visited AdtU.

Addressing the graduating students, the Vice-Chancellor emphasised the importance of using their education responsibly and carrying forward the values of purpose, integrity, excellence and social responsibility.

The 13th Convocation celebrated not only the academic accomplishments of the graduating batch but also AdtU’s progress in placements, higher education, research, innovation, internationalisation and industry-academia collaboration.

The ceremony marked an important milestone for the graduating students as they embarked on professional careers, higher education and new opportunities in India and abroad.
