The Assam Science Society (ASS) has announced relief initiatives for people affected by recent floods in Sivasagar, Charaideo, and Jorhat districts. A primary focus is providing free educational materials to students from flood-affected families to ensure continued learning despite the hardship.

To support this programme, ASS is mobilizing financial contributions from its members. The initiative seeks to reduce interruptions in academic progress for students suffering losses due to the floods.

Alongside education support, several district branches of the Society have intensified relief activities in their regions. Notably, the Gaurisagar-Dikhoumukh branch has started cultivating paddy seedlings on nearly four bighas of land. These seedlings are being distributed free of cost to flood-affected farmers for replanting.

The Assam Science Society stated these actions aim to assist affected families as they recover and rebuild livelihoods after the floods.
