The Congress party in Telangana has formally requested an extension for the completion deadline of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The delegation argued that the voter verification process is progressing slowly, especially in Hyderabad, and warned that many eligible voters could be left out if the current deadline is not extended.

The team, which included MLCs Addanki Dayakar and Balamoor Venkat, MLAs Sri Ganesh and Naveen Yadav, District Congress Committee president Deepak John, TPCC Election Commission Coordination Committee chairman Rajesh, Motha Rohith, and other party leaders, urged the Election Commission to allow additional time to ensure a comprehensive and error-free revision of the electoral rolls.
