Gradiant, the Woburn-based industrial water technology company, expects its India business to double over the next year as demand grows from the country’s rapidly expanding semiconductor, solar, printed circuit board (PCB), and data centre industries. India currently accounts for about 10% of Gradiant’s global revenue, highlighting its increasing importance to the company. Gradiant’s global annual revenue is estimated between $500 million and $750 million, with a target of reaching $1 billion within the next two to three years.
The company views India's industrial growth as a major opportunity for its advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies. However, Gradiant is shifting its focus from merely winning orders to enhancing its execution capacity. COO Govind Alagappan noted the main challenge is turning the expanding order book into successfully executed projects by developing the necessary engineering talent, technical skills, and delivery capacity. The anticipated rise in semiconductor and solar manufacturing, along with investments in other sectors, is expected to boost demand for Gradiant’s solutions and require strengthening its execution infrastructure in India.
