The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, across Guwahati and other parts of Assam.

Rainfall is expected to range between 6 and 12 cm within 24 hours over the next three to four days.

The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) has warned that this weather may cause waterlogging, flooding, flash floods, slow traffic movement, and localized landslides in vulnerable areas.

District administrations and emergency response teams have been put on alert.

ASDMA has advised residents, especially those in low-lying and hillside regions, to stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rainfall.
