India's car leasing market is a small segment, representing less than 2% of the country's passenger vehicle industry, but it has grown significantly in recent years and is poised for further expansion. Leasing is gaining popularity beyond large corporates, with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities, increasingly leasing vehicles for employees involved in sales and service roles.
The market is drawing more leasing companies, while customers show greater interest and automobile manufacturers seek to provide leasing benefits. More corporate firms are introducing car-leasing policies as an additional employee benefit, fueling demand for flexible mobility solutions. Despite these advancements, India's leasing market remains in its early stages compared to developed economies and markets like Thailand. Ayvens, one of India's largest car leasing companies, currently operates a fleet exceeding 50,000 vehicles, underscoring the sectors growing presence.
