India’s online retail market is expected to cross $90 billion in calendar year 2026, with the festive season emerging as the strongest in five years, according to Redseer Strategy Consultants. Festive online retail is projected to grow 25% in 2026, up from 16% in 2025, reflecting stronger consumer demand and rising adoption of online shopping. Quick commerce is set to be a key growth driver, with festive-season sales projected to increase by 110–120% year-on-year, significantly outpacing the overall e-commerce sector’s estimated 16–18% growth.
Growth is anticipated across several major categories. Grocery is expected to expand by 48–50%, followed by beauty and personal care (BPC) at 35–40%, and home and furniture at 32–35%. Fashion is forecasted to grow 20–22%, while electronics may increase by 15–17%. In contrast, the mobile category, which accounted for 33% of festive online retail in 2025, is expected to see more moderate growth of 5–7%. These projections emphasize the growing importance of convenience-led shopping, faster deliveries, and diverse product categories in shaping India’s festive e-commerce market.
