The Government of India, together with the Japan Bank of International Cooperation (JBIC), has invested ₹200 crore in Ather Energy. This investment is part of a larger ₹1,200 crore funding round that also includes contributions from Ather Energy's founders and Hero MotoCorp.
A joint investment by a major automaker and a state-backed climate fund will boost Ather's fight against rivals like TVS and Bajaj. By backing its next mass-market scooter, this mix of industrial and policy capital aims to accelerate India's EV(Electric Vehicle) infrastructure and broaden its charging infrastructure nationwide.
