Mirabai Chanu, the celebrated weightlifter from Manipur, delivered a dominant performance in the women's 48kg weightlifting competition at the 23rd CWG, in Glasgow, Scotland on Sunday (26th July) and earns her third successive CWG gold medal. The victory takes her overall CWG medal tally to four.


Her Winning Performance Breakdown Follows:

  1. Snatch: Lifted 85kgs on her third attempt, setting a new CWG record.
  2. Clean & Jerk: Lifted 105kg on her second attempt, secured the top spot and sealed the victory.
  3. Total Lift: Finished with 190kgs, and broke the Games record across snatch, clean & jerk and the overall total.


Throughout the competition, she showcased remarkable strength and composure, setting new records and leaving no doubt about her supremacy in the event.

Her victory adds to her growing legacy in international weightlifting and highlights her consistent excellence on the world stage.
