India and OPEC emphasized the importance of sustained engagement between energy-producing and consuming countries to support investment, strengthen energy resilience, and ensure reliable supplies as global energy demand continues to rise.
Speaking at the Seventh High-Level Meeting of the OPEC-India Energy Dialogue, Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated that India will remain a major driver of global energy demand in the coming decades.
He highlighted that continued cooperation with major oil-producing countries is essential for meeting the country's long-term energy needs. Established in 2015, the OPEC-India Energy Dialogue serves as a cooperative framework for India and OPEC member countries to exchange views on developments in the energy sector.
The dialogue addresses energy security, supply stability, investment, and changing global energy market conditions. Sustained communication between producers and consumers enhances coordination and encourages the investments necessary to maintain dependable energy supplies.
