The Indian men's volleyball team advanced to the quarterfinals of the AVC Men's Volleyball Championship in Fukuoka, Japan, on Wednesday, marking their first last-eight appearance since 2019. After recovering from earlier group stage losses against China and Iran, captain Jerome Vinith led India to a crucial 3-0 victory (25-22, 25-18, 25-21) over New Zealand at the Kitakyushu City General Gymnasium on Tuesday.

India's quarterfinal berth was officially confirmed on Wednesday following Bahrain's 3-0 win against Oman, which allowed India to clinch eighth place overall on set-point ratio. The squad now prepares for a tough quarterfinal clash on Thursday against the pool stage's top-seeded team as they aim for their first semifinal berth in 21 years.
