Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi mounted a fresh attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government, alleging that the system has become "downright deadly" against students following a month-long student agitation.
Highlighting recent clashes, Gandhi pointed to reports of alleged police action in Bihar—where he claimed AK-47 bullets were fired at protesting students and FIRs were filed against them—as well as the July 20 students' march to Parliament from Jantar Mantar in Delhi, where pellet guns were allegedly used.
Questioning PM Modi on unfulfilled promises regarding the release of students and the withholding of FIRs, Gandhi criticized the government's handling of exam irregularities, labeled the administration as dishonest, and demanded that the Prime Minister apologize to students while taking action against those who used lethal force rather than targeting the protesters.
