Carried to an altitude of 30,607 meters (100,416 feet) above Sweden's Esrange Space Center by a high-altitude balloon, a phone fitted with RHINOSHIELD's AirX ultra-cushioned case was released into freefall.
Exposed to stratospheric temperatures ranging from –40°C to –60°C and ultra-low atmospheric pressure, the device completed a 25-minute descent into uninhabited wilderness. After an intensive five-hour tracking and recovery mission, Guinness World Records adjudicators verified that the phone's exterior remained completely intact and all essential functions—including making calls and taking photos—were fully operational.
