Soorya Krishnamoorthy (1947 or 1948- 23 September, 2026), also known as Nataraja Krishnamoorthy was an renowned Indian artist, philanthropist and scientist who dedicated to promoting the arts, passed away in Kerala. He was the founder of the Soorya Stage and Film Society, an organisation renowned for its commitment to bringing diverse cultural experiences to the public.
In 1996, karishnamoorthy was honoured with the National Award for Stage Craft and Direction of President of India and was also Conferred the highest honours from Kerela, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry governments.
Under his leadership, the society has consistently organised the Soorya Music, Dance and Film Festival in Thiruvananthapuram every year. This event showcases the finest musicians, dancers, and films, enriching Kerala's cultural landscape.
