The United States launched a fresh round of airstrikes on multiple targets across Iran on early thursday (July 9,2026), further escalating the ongoing conflict between the two nations. These actions followed outspoken remarks from U.S. President Trump, who promised to respond decisively in response to previous Iranian activities.
According to U.S. Central Command, the operation was aimed at weakening Iran's ability 'to threaten freedom of navigation" through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media said that explosions were reported across several locations, including Bushehr, the site of Iran's nuclear power complex, and the southern port cities of Chabahar, Konarak, Bandar Abbas, and Sirik.
