On July 26, 2008, the terror group Indian Mujahideen carried out a coordinated attack across Ahmedabad, Gujarat, detonating 21 bombs in just 70 minutes, including at local hospitals, killing 56 people and injuring over 200.
Following a lengthy trial, a special court convicted the individuals responsible in 2022, sentencing 38 members to death and 11 others to life imprisonment.
On July 7, 2026, a two-judge division bench of the Gujarat High Court dismissed the convicts' appeals, upholding the trial court's verdict and confirming the death sentences and life imprisonment.
