Andhra Pradesh MSME Minister Kondapalli Srinivas announced that the state government will review a proposal to establish a dedicated media commission aimed at curbing misinformation and regulating social media misuse. Submitted by the Andhra Pradesh Union of Working Journalists Association, the proposal recommends placing print, electronic, and social media platforms under the commission’s purview to establish oversight and issue periodic guidelines.
Highlighting the crucial role media plays in raising public awareness about government welfare schemes and development projects, Minister Srinivas acknowledged the growing challenges posed by unchecked social media misuse. During the meeting, the journalists' delegation also submitted memorandums to Nellimarla MLA Lokam Naga Madhavi, District Collector S. Ramsundar Reddy, and other key officials, detailing pressing issues and challenges faced by media professionals in the region.
