Under the Mission for Aatmanirbharta (Self-Reliance) in Pulses, the Government of Assam's Department of Agriculture is introducing new financial support to empower local agricultural entrepreneurs and boost pulse processing across the state.
Key Highlights of the Scheme
- Financial Support: Eligible projects can receive a subsidy covering up to 33% of the project cost, capped at ₹25 lakh per unit.
- Target Audience: The initiative specifically supports Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) engaged in pulse production.
- Eligible Units: Support is designated exclusively for setting up new pulse processing and packaging units.
- Capacity Requirement: Units must have a minimum processing capacity of 300 kg per hour.

By promoting local dal mills, the state aims to strengthen pulse production, improve domestic processing capabilities, and open doors for pulse exports—elevating Assam’s commercial agriculture sector to new heights.
