Australia continued their dominance in women's cricket by defeating hosts England by seven wickets to win a record seventh ICC Women's T20 World Cup title on Sunday, July 5.
Chasing 151, Australia comfortably reached the target in 17.1 overs to seal another memorable win. The victory also earned captain Sophie Molineux her first ICC title as a captain.
Young opener Phoebe Litchfield played a confident knock of 48 off 35 balls, combining with the experienced Beth Mooney, who struck 64 off 49 balls, to add 100 runs for the second wicket. Their dominant partnership took the game away from England, whose modest total offered little challenge on a surface well suited for batting.
England's total proved insufficient on a good batting surface as Australia completed the chase with ease to claim a record seventh Women's T20 World Cup title.
