Flipkart has created over 2.5 lakh direct and indirect jobs, including gig roles, ahead of the festive season to meet increased customer demand. Nearly 75,000 of these opportunities are for first-time entrants to India's workforce, highlighting e-commerce's role in employment growth. These jobs span more than 7,000 Ekart facilities, such as fulfilment centres, sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery operations.

About 60% of new roles focus on last-mile delivery, supported by over 900 festive delivery hubs and growing demand from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Women make up more than 20% of Flipkart's supply-chain workforce. Flipkart's quick-commerce platform, Flipkart Minutes, has expanded rapidly, growing four-fold year-on-year and operating 1,200 micro-fulfilment centres in over 150 cities.

Since its launch two years ago, Flipkart Minutes has generated over 4 lakh direct and indirect jobs, with around 60% of customers returning to shop. Smaller cities are key growth markets, with the customer base in Tier 2 and smaller towns increasing nearly 25-fold year-on-year.

Consumers in these areas are buying more than essentials, including Korean noodles, sauces, ready-to-eat meals, and premium skincare and personal care products.

Gen Z is the fastest-growing customer segment on Flipkart Minutes, with its base rising nearly five-fold in the past year. This group accounts for over 45% of orders across categories such as beauty, electronics, gaming, wearables, fragrances, health and nutrition, and grooming.

Alongside creating jobs, Flipkart is enhancing workforce skills through its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA), which has issued nearly 10,000 certifications ahead of the festive season. The program offers hands-on supply-chain training in collaboration with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, NCVET, and ITI Kalyani.
