On August 3, 2026,The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has directed Dabur India Ltd. to immediately halt the sale of several food items carrying misleading and unverifiable "100%" claims—such as "100% Natural", "100% Pure", "100% Organic", and "100% Purity Guaranteed". Covering products like honey, coconut oil, coconut water, ghee, sesame oil, and apple cider vinegar, the regulator cited violations under the Food Safety and Standards (Advertising and Claims) Regulations, 2018, noting that such labeling is ambiguous and misleads consumers.
Specific violations were also flagged, including Dabur Hommade Coconut Milk using non-permissible purity claims for a compound food product, and organic honey and apple cider vinegar displaying the Jaivik Bharat logo without valid organic endorsements. Following Dabur's failure to comply with an earlier notice, the FSSAI has ordered an immediate prohibition on sales of all affected products and mandated an Action Taken Report (ATR) within 15 days.
