Zubair Baloch, the 40-year-old brother of jailed gang leader Uzair Baloch, was seriously wounded after unidentified motorcycle-borne gunmen opened fire on him while he was sitting outside his home in Lyari's Singu Lane, Karachi.
The attack on main Chakiwara Road also critically injured a passerby and wounded another, with all victims shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi. Zubair, who suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen, had previously been arrested in 2012 before being released in January 2025.
Police are investigating gang rivalry and personal enmity, while local residents express fear of returning gang violence following reports of returned gang members and Zubair's recent political activities in the area.
