During a celebratory dinner for the Indian boxing contingent's historic 10-medal haul at the Commonwealth Games, Olympic medallist and CWG silver winner Lovlina Borgohain raised concerns over an inaccurate India map displayed at Glasgow’s Mister Singh’s India — The Home of Curry.
The Assam-born boxer noticed that the map—printed on napkins and exterior signage—completely omitted the Northeast region and distorted Jammu & Kashmir.
Addressing management politely, Borgohain said:
"In the map of India, our North East is missing... As someone from the North East, that really hurts us... Please keep this in mind next time."
Boxing Federation of India (BFI) President Ajay Singh supported Borgohain, confirming there was no confrontation and that the error was immediately highlighted.
Following online viral coverage, the restaurant issued a formal apology, attributing the oversight to an older map template and promising an immediate logo update before temporarily deactivating its social media accounts.
