Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has reached a significant milestone by exporting a cumulative total of one lakh units of its Made-in-India models—the Jimny 5-door, FRONX, and e VITARA—to Japan. Japan is known as one of the most competitive and advanced automobile markets globally, making this achievement particularly noteworthy for vehicles manufactured in India.
The company began exporting these models to Japan starting with the FRONX in August 2024, followed by the Jimny 5-door in December 2024. In September 2025, Maruti Suzuki expanded its export lineup with the introduction of the e VITARA, its first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) in the Japanese market.
With these three models, Maruti Suzuki has surpassed the 100,000-unit cumulative export mark to Japan, underscoring the growing presence of its India-made vehicles and the company’s expanding international export portfolio.
