Samsung Electronics and five affiliates plan to invest a combined $1 billion in Helix Digital Infrastructure, an AI infrastructure firm founded by KKR and supported by Nvidia. Samsung Electronics will provide $500 million, with Samsung C&T, Samsung SDS, Samsung SDI, Samsung Life Insurance, and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance contributing the balance.

This investment marks Samsung's entry into the rapidly expanding global AI infrastructure market. Helix focuses on hyperscale data centers, power generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure, and fibre-optic networks essential to meet growing AI demand.

The partnership enables Samsung to utilize its expertise in semiconductors, cooling systems, data center construction, and batteries while collaborating with Helix to accelerate AI data center deployment worldwide.

Launched in June and led by former Amazon Web Services CEO Adam Selipsky, Helix counts KKR, Nvidia, the Kuwait Investment Authority, and U.S. power company Vistra among its founding investors and has secured over $10 billion in committed funding.

Samsung stated that this investment will enhance collaboration among the involved companies and reinforce its position in the global AI infrastructure development.
