A Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant has expressed serious concern over students' frustration with the CBSE's digital on-screen marking (OSM) grading system.
While hearing a public interest petition (PIL) that seeks formal regulations and a supervisory committee for this digital evaluation process, the court highlighted systemic "creeping problems" in how exams are graded.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that the government is taking the matter seriously and has formed a committee, headed by S Radha Chauhan to review the system and suggest reforms. The court sought a progress report on the steps taken and posted the matter further hearing next week.
