Following two powerful earthquakes of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 that struck Venezuela's coastal state of La Guaira on June 24, the official death toll has climbed to 4,734, with more than 16,700 people injured.

According to the United Nations, around 50,000 people are still missing after hundreds of buildings collapsed during the disaster.

While the majority of the injured have been discharged from hospitals, rescue and recovery efforts continue nearly three weeks after the initial tremors.
