Industry stakeholders have urged the government to take swift action to stabilise the cotton supply chain, improve procurement systems, and ensure the steady availability of quality cotton at competitive prices. They also advocate for better storage infrastructure, enhanced market access for farmers, and stronger coordination among producers, traders, and textile units.
The industry believes that boosting cotton productivity and expanding quality cotton cultivation can help address supply constraints and reduce price volatility over the long term. Efficient procurement and adequate storage facilities would further enable mills to secure raw materials consistently and prevent disruptions caused by temporary shortages.
