In a historic milestone for Indian sports, 18-year-old squash prodigy Anahat Singh has secured the silver medal in the women's singles squash event at the 2026 Asian Games.
With this performance, Anahat becomes the first-ever Indian woman to reach the singles final and claim a silver medal in squash at the Asian Games, surpassing previous bronze-medal milestones set by legends Dipika Pallikal and Joshna Chinappa.
After mounting a dramatic comeback victory over Japan's world No. 6 Satomi Watanabe in the semi-finals, Anahat fought hard in the gold medal match before falling 3-0 (11-4, 11-4, 11-7) to defending champion Sivasangari Subramaniam of Malaysia.
Her remarkable achievement marks India's highest-ever finish in the women's singles squash event at the continental games.
