Parul Chaudhary secured the bronze medal in the women's 3000m steeplechase final at the Paloma Mizuho Stadium in Nagoya, Japan, on September 27, 2026. The 31-year-old distance runner completed the course in 9:08.67, erasing her previous national mark of 9:12.46 set at the 2025 Asian Championships in Gumi. Bahrain's reigning Olympic champion Winfred Yavi won gold after setting an Asian Games record time of 9:04.36, while Kazakhstan's Norah Jeruto Tanui took silver with 9:06.82. Indian teammate Ankita Dhyani finished fourth with a personal best time of 9:19.24.
The performance gives Chaudhary her third career Asian Games medal, following her 5000m gold and 3000m steeplechase silver at Hangzhou in 2023. Chaudhary competed in the steeplechase final 24 hours after contesting the women's 1500m track final in Nagoya. The result moves her alongside Sudha Singh as the only Indian women to win multiple individual Asian Games medals in the 3000m steeplechase.
