Bangladesh inaugurated the July Mass Uprising Memorial Museum at Ganabhaban—the former official residence of ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina—on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The ceremony marked the anniversary of Hasina's flight to India following the widespread political unrest of 2024. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman led the event, emphasizing the museum's role in preserving the history and memory of the 2024 July Mass Uprising.
The museum showcases exhibits, preserved artifacts, and documentation that honor the collective struggles and sacrifices during the movement. Through this site, the government aims to educate future generations on the nation's struggle for democracy and reform.
