The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has uncovered a bribery scandal linked to the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026.
The probe revealed that Shivraj Raghunath Motegaonkar, owner of a coaching center in Latur, paid ₹5 lakh to an NTA question paper-setter to obtain advance access to NEET questions.
CBI recovered Motegaonkar's mobile phone containing 36 images (including five duplicates) showing 132 handwritten chemistry questions.
Authorities confirmed that 111 of these questions matched the official NEET (UG) 2026 master question sets prepared by the NTA.
